ARGO-HYTOS: German-Swiss technology for fluid power

Since 1947, ARGO-HYTOS has been developing components and systems for industrial and mobile hydraulics, starting with patented magnetic filters in the 1950s and expanding today to a complete range of valves, power units, sensors, and fluid management solutions. The group, controlled since 2022 by the Voith Group with the tagline "a Voith Company," employs approximately 1,600 people across six production facilities in Germany (Kraichtal), the Czech Republic (Vrchlabí, Ostrava), Poland, India, and China, with its operational headquarters in Baar (Switzerland) and an Italian sales subsidiary in Modena.

Three technologies define the brand’s positioning. The EXAPOR®MAX 2 filter family offers a collapse pressure of 160 bar and filter ratings from 5 to 30 µm, validated according to ISO 16889, ISO 2941, and ISO 23181, with ISO 4406 cleanliness levels up to 11/8/5. The RPE3 valve range in CETOP 02, 03, and 05 standards (ISO 4401, DIN 24340, NFPA D03) operates up to 350 bar with flow rates up to 80 l/min in NG6 and over 600 l/min in the pilot-operated version. The OPCom Particle Monitor and OPCom FerroS sensors integrate particle and ferromagnetic wear monitoring in oil via RS232, CANopen, and SAE J1939 interfaces.

ARGO-HYTOS’s long-standing specialization is off-highway hydraulics: tractors, combine harvesters, excavators, dump trucks, forklifts, and hydro-pneumatic suspensions for axles and cabs. The same technology, built to withstand the vibrations and temperature fluctuations of machines in the field, is used in the most demanding stationary industrial applications: presses, machine tools, plastic molding, and wind turbines. ISO 9001 certification across all facilities, ISO 14001 environmental certification, and a scope 1 and 2 carbon neutrality declaration effective from 2022.
