TFS’s motor portfolio covers the entire hydraulic range: fixed- and variable-displacement axial piston motors, high-torque, low-speed radial piston motors (the historic Bosch Rexroth MCR series and, starting in October 2026, Hägglunds motors), and orbital motors for low-speed traction and mobile applications. The in-house test bench is designed to test motors up to the torque levels typical of steel handling systems and marine winch drives. For high-torque radial motors, TFS performs a complete overhaul, including replacement of the main bearings, radial pistons, and associated seals, dimensional inspection of the camshaft, and testing with a torque-speed curve. For MCR and Hägglunds motors, our status as a Bosch Rexroth Service Partner guarantees access to updated construction drawings, torque tightening procedures, and original spare parts. For fleets of orbital motors installed on tractors, agricultural machinery, and construction vehicles, TFS organizes periodic overhaul programs with a test report accompanying each unit returned to service.
Axial, radial, and orbital piston motors: when to intervene
Service begins with diagnosis: loss of torque under load, abnormal noise, external leaks, and speed fluctuations are the most common symptoms of components exceeding acceptable wear limits. For axial piston motors, the critical assessment focuses on the swash plate and front seals; for high-torque radial motors, on the main bearings and camshaft; for orbital motors, on the internal gear set. TFS analyzes each unit using a standardized protocol and provides a report indicating whether it is advisable to perform a rebuild, a complete overhaul with OEM kit replacement, or a full replacement with a new original component.
Engine Overhaul Procedure and Test Bench
Disassembly takes place in a controlled environment: each component is cataloged, cleaned, and measured. The tolerances of cylinder blocks, shoes, shafts, and bearings are compared with the original Bosch Rexroth, Kawasaki, or Hägglunds manufacturing drawings. Reassembly follows the specified torque values, using OEM gasket kits and manufacturer-cataloged replacement parts. Hydraulic testing measures torque, speed, and efficiency across the entire operating range; the signed report accompanies the component to the customer and is filed in the machine’s documentation in accordance with ISO 9001 procedures.
Hägglunds, MCR, and high-torque radial units: our new focus
Since October 2026, TFS has been an authorized Hägglunds center (Bosch Rexroth Group), a natural extension of the Rexroth partnership active since 1997. Hägglunds are high-torque, low-speed radial motors used in direct drives: marine winches and cranes, mills, trommels, steel industry, and railway applications. Overhaul requires specialized equipment for replacing radial pistons, main bearings, and high-pressure seals. TFS also manages predictive maintenance programs with scheduled bearing replacement, reducing unplanned downtime on critical systems.
