Filtration, accumulators, and fluid conditioning – Diagnosis, replacement, and cleanliness class verification

Accumulatore idraulico e filtri – condizionamento fluido TFS

More than 70% of failures in a hydraulic system are attributable to fluid contamination or inadequate thermal management. TFS manages the entire peripheral system that protects the main components: in-line filters, return filters, pressure filters, tank filters, clogging indicators, pressure, level, and temperature sensors, bladder, diaphragm, and piston accumulators, air-oil and water-oil heat exchangers, and automatic progressive and single-line lubrication systems. Typical services include analysis of fluid contamination class according to ISO 4406, replacement of filter cartridges, verification and, if necessary, recharging of inert gases in accumulators (using instrumentation and procedures compliant with PED standards), diagnosis of heat exchangers, and the calibration and replacement of pressure switches and sensors. For Beka Max/SKF TFS lubrication systems, we manage the mapping of lubrication points, timer programming, and periodic maintenance of the central pump.

Fluid Filtration and Analysis

The types of filters managed by TFS include suction, pressure, return, and offline filters, with beta efficiency as specified by the manufacturer. Periodic oil sampling programs allow for monitoring the ISO 4406 contamination class over time and anticipating failures due to fluid aging. TFS implements preventive filtration contracts: cartridge replacement based on operating hours, periodic particle counting, and spectrometric fluid analysis. For fire-resistant fluids and special oils, TFS manages the selection of the correct filter based on chemical compatibility.

Hydraulic accumulators: recharging and maintenance

Accumulators (bladder, diaphragm, piston) are critical components regulated by the PED directive. TFS checks and recharges the nitrogen precharge using certified equipment, replaces worn bladders and membranes, and manages the conformity certifications required for marine applications (RINA) and fire suppression systems. Periodic maintenance of accumulators is often neglected and frequently leads to malfunctions in circuits requiring volume compensation or pressure peak damping.

Heat Exchangers, Instrumentation, and Automatic Lubrication

TFS designs and diagnoses Emmegi air-oil and water-oil heat exchangers for the thermal balance of hydraulic systems. For instrumentation (pressure switches, level indicators, temperature sensors), TFS works with Elettrotec, Hydac, and MP Filtri brands for replacements, calibrations, and upgrades. Beka Max/SKF progressive and single-line automatic lubrication systems are managed from the initial mapping of lubrication points through to periodic maintenance of the central pump and secondary distributors.

Brands we service: Hydac – filters, accumulators, and sensors; MP Filtri – filters and indicators; Argo-Hytos – filters and accessories, Hengst Filtration – industrial filters, OMT – tank filters, Emmegi – heat exchangers, Hawe – accumulators, Elettrotec – pressure switches and indicators, Beka Max and SKF – lubrication, Casappa – Ikron filters for hydraulic circuits.
