External, internal, and vane gear pumps: application differences
External gear pumps (groups 1, 2, 3, 4) are the most common solution for small to medium displacements and pressures up to 250 bar; Rexroth AZP internal gear pumps offer reduced noise and higher pressures; vane pumps allow for variable displacement and adjustable flow rates in industrial systems. For each architecture, TFS defines the remanufacturing threshold based on measured wear and recommends the most cost-effective option between complete overhaul and replacement.
Overhaul and testing: what is included in our standard procedure
The standard overhaul includes inspection of the pump bodies and covers, replacement of bushings and shims, checking the clearance between gears and the pump body, complete replacement of the OEM gasket kit, reassembly, and bench testing with a recorded flow-pressure curve. Testing measures volumetric efficiency, residual leakage, and noise levels within the manufacturer’s specified operating range. Every overhauled pump is shipped with a signed report.
