Revamping of the IVECO grinding line
complete replacement of the hydraulic power unit
TFS restored the operation of a hydraulic system used in the machining of mechanical parts for the assembly of IVECO industrial vehicles, replacing the entire hydraulic power unit at the Foggia plant.
The challenge
The customer, in the industrial automotive sector, needed to restore a hydraulic system serving a grinding line, ensuring production continuity and reliability. On a machining line, prolonged downtime propagates downstream across the entire assembly flow: the intervention had to be planned to keep the shutdown window to a minimum.
The TFS solution
Replacement of the entire hydraulic power unit: assembly and commissioning of a new unit with components from leading brands (Bosch Rexroth, Hengst, Hydac), sized on the actual duty cycle of the grinding line. The system was configured to meet Industry 4.0 certification requirements, with provision for process data acquisition.
The result
The grinding line is operational again with a new power unit, catalogue-available components and a documented system layout — conditions that keep routine maintenance and spare parts manageable over time, overcoming the obsolescence of the previous unit. The system is also connected in line with Industry 4.0 requirements.
Hydraulic support for industrial plants in Apulia and Southern Italy
TFS operates with on-site support teams at customer plants throughout Italy and across the Mediterranean basin: the IVECO Foggia intervention is one of the projects carried out in Apulia, alongside work on industrial plants in Campania, Basilicata and Calabria. On production machinery, TFS works on hydraulic power units, piping and components, with repair and overhaul of industrial pumps and motors carried out at the Battipaglia workshop on the Bosch Rexroth certified test bench, and recommissioning of the system at the customer site.
